Lottery/Sweepstake Scam Alert - Peoples Credit Union Cashiers Checks

Fraudulent Green Cashiers Checks and letters have been mailed out to individuals claiming that they have won the lottery. The letter indicates that you will need to send some money using Money Gram to pay for the taxes to claim the remainder of your winnings. This is a scam! Recipients of these letters and cashiers checks should not respond to these requests and should not send any money! If you have deposited any of these checks into your accounts, please notify your financial institution as soon as possible. Anyone who believes that they have been a victim of a financial scam, should report this information to local, state, or federal law enforcement authorities.
